How to Measure your Shutters

Things you will need:

•  Pad of paper
•  Pencil or pen
•  Measuring Tape

When measuring your windows and doors, measure the largest part of the opening rounding to the nearest quarter (1/4) foot : from the inside of the window sill or door jam to the other side of the window sill or door jam. DO NOT MEASURE THE ACTUAL WINDOW OR DOOR .

Always measure the WIDTH first and then the HEIGHT.

We suggest that you begin at your front door and work your way clockwise around your home. Measure each opening that you would like to cover with storm panels. Number each opening on your pad of paper along side its width and height measurements. This will make it easier when you place your order and when your order is delivered to you.

Helpful hint:
Once installed, DIYHurricaneSupply.com suggests that you number the panels to correspond to each opening. This way when you store and then reinstall the shutters, you know which shutters go on which openings.
